Fibretronic Sales (Pty) Ltd, a 100% black-owned and women-empowered provider technical network services to telecommunications companies and a specialist distributor in the distribution of specialised equipment for structured cabling and telco markets, has signed a strategic agreement with global telecoms giant China Communications International Ltd (Comservice).

This agreement will see the world-class information network builder and Fibretronic Sales working together exclusively as local partners on selected deals.

With 30 years experience in this space, Comservice is a leading service provider in China that provides integrated support services in the informatization sector including telecommunications, media and technology. The company offers telecommunications infrastructure ("TIS") services (including design, construction and project supervision and management), business process outsourcing ("BPO") services (including maintenance, distribution of telecommunications services and products, and facilities management), and applications, content and other ("ACO") services (including IT applications, Internet services and voice VAS, etc).

All the major telecommunications operators in China, namely, China Telecommunications Corporation ("China Telecom"), China Mobile Communications Corporation ("China Mobile") and China United Network Communications Group Company Limited ("China Unicom") are its customers.

Comservice also provides services to government agencies, telecommunications equipment manufacturers, corporate customers and public customers in China and its service coverage is spread across the nation and its business extends to over 50 countries and regions globally including Hong Kong, Macau, Middle East, the Asia Pacific region, Africa and South America.

Fibretronic Sales provides services related to transmission networks including cabling and installations of associated equipment. This includes installations, commissioning, upgrades and maintenance of RF related equipment including microwave systems.

It also offers engineering planning services for telecommunication companies including traffic and RF planning as well as specialisation in structured cabling and provides its own Teranet and ObserverRack brands and other third party brands.

Comservice is listed on the Main Board of HKEX (HK.552). Its main shareholders include China Telecommunications Corporation ("China Telecom"), China Mobile and China Unicom, as well as strategic investors of CISCO and IBM.

It is the leading company of its kind in providing integrated services for telecommunications, media and technology companies.

Meanwhile, China Communications Services (Hong Kong) International Limited is the international arm and wholly-owned subsidiary of Comservice, and is responsible for its overseas business development and equipment vendors and other overseas customers with top-quality one-shop services, including Telecommunications Infrastructure Services (TIS), Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and Applications and Content Outsourcing Service (ACO).

With the backing of this international telecommunications giant, Fibretronic Sales will be able to offer its services and expertise to telecommunications operators and where OEMs have won deals, turnkey solutions.

According to Dillo Lehlokoe, CEO of Fibretronic Sales, says her company is now in a position to help network providers with the building of physical networks.

"We are now in the position to tap into Comservice's expertise, geographical presence and financial stamina to even help provincial and local government departments in setting up networks," she says.

In addition, this puts Fibretronic Sales in a perfect position to provide broadband connectivity to rural areas, an achievement that almost all the incumbent network providers have been struggling with and have not managed to bring to fruition.

"This is a perfect opportunity for us to get into this partnership because equipment manufacturers are also getting into a space where they provide services and content above and beyond just the hardware. We will now have direct access to massive resources from a technology, human resources, finances as well as geographical presence. We will also be able to partner with service providers on the continent," explains Lehlokoe.

She further states that this partnership also enhances her company's capabilities to not only design build and operate networks on behalf of OEMs, but also allows Fibretronic Sales to now look into offering managed services for operators, brining higher value services into play.

Additionally, Fibretronic Sales also benefits from Comservice's hardware knowledge of telecommunications and the fact that it has a track record that includes large multinationals as well as government accounts.
